Dreams

Open discussion: Dreams

I had this really weird, frightening dream last night.
I can't recall the exact details now, but I remembered waking up and feeling very relieved that it was a dream. I was horrified, and I spent half a day today freaking out!

It was something to do with me being blue, and then I watched this video about a person being in a similar situation, but then she commited suicide by jumping from a high apartment's balcony. For some reason, I was frustrated and about to do the same thing as well! But I restrained myself for jumping, and not long after that I woke up.

The unusual thing is, it felt so real! It almost felt like I was really there and made a conscious judgements of my action. I wonder, what are dreams? Do they really represent some things that we are not consciously aware of, or are they just our heart's deepest wishes?

i believe one source is the memories or experiences we bury and neglect. these things are seeds. they sprout thorns and flowers and strangle you while you sleep.

what a coincidence, Jane. i was just writing about a dream on Jan 17.

I know, it's a bit freaky - I saw your blog about an hour ago.

yet some people also perceive dreams as a form of prophecy, of spiritual encounter with the ghosts of people we used to know.. what do u think of that?

i think it all comes down to the the fact that we don't know how much power our mind has, and what it is capable of while our bodies lie unconscious. the possibilities are intimidating; i've had dreams of premonitions and i can't even begin to explain how that is possible, having penetrated time and into the future.

for me, the subject of dreams is a whole myriad of questions that lead to even more perplexing questions.
